Progress and News

  • April 2015: We have published an Internet-Draft in cooperation with Andreas Hülsing (TU Eindhoven) and Aziz Mohaisen (Verisign Labs). We appreciate any comments on the draft. Please feel free to contact the authors.
  • July 2015: We updated the Internet-Draft for XMSS to version 01. There is a change log available in the appendix of the document. Again we are thankful for any comments on the draft!
  • September 2015: The members of the European research project PQCRYPTO released their initial recommendations for post-quantum crypto systems. As a suitable solution for post-quantum signatures they propose XMSS. See the Internet-Draft for more information on the signature scheme.
  • January 2016: We submitted a minor update for the Internet-Draft for hash-based signatures which is now available in version 02. There is a change log available in the appendix of the document. We are thankful for any comments on the draft!
  • February 2016: We updated the Internet-Draft for XMSS to version 03. There is a change log available in the appendix of the document. We are thankful for any comments on the draft!
  • February 2016: We have also released a reference implementation for the Internet-Draft which can be found in our publications section.
  • June 2016: We updated the Internet-Draft for XMSS to version 04. There is a change log available in the appendix of the document. We are thankful for any comments on the draft!
  • July 2016: After an in-between update with small fixes for the draft (version 05) we have updated the hash addressing scheme with version 06. We have also released a reference implementation for this version of the Internet-Draft which can be found in our publications section.
  • August 2016: The paper on State Management for Hash-Based Signatures has been accepted to SSR 2016.
  • October 2016: Some last changes have been applied to the Internet-Draft which is now available in version 07.
  • March 2017: After receiving the review of the document shepherd we have published the version (08) of the Internet-Draft.
  • March 2017: Some minor nits and typos have been fixed in version (09) of the Internet-Draft.
  • May 2017: Java code for XMSS is available via the Bouncy Castle cryptographic library. The XMSS code should still be treated as beta code though.
  • July 2017: Some improvements for the draft have been published in version (10) of the Internet-Draft as a result of the IRSG review.
